2025 REMINGTON VINEY LEGACY SCHOLARSHIP RECIPIENT
We are thrilled to announce that the Remington Viney Legacy and Women in Aviation—Four Lakes chapter presented our annual aviation scholarship at EAA AirVenture Oshkosh on WomenVenture Day, July 23, 2025. Remington was an avid EAA attendee and held the rank of SSgt in the 115th Air National Guard Wing of Madison, WI. For the second year in a row, the 115th ANG has coordinated and is sponsoring this presentation to honor her legacy. After hearing from a panel of female military pilots, it was our honor to award this year’s $7,000 scholarship to Fawne Maguire.
She grew up on a dairy farm in Mosinee, WI. After high school, she served four years in the Air Force as a C-17 crew chief. In 2020, she was honorably discharged and was hired as a customer service representative at Envoy Air. Before starting college at Southern Illinois University at Carbondale, she earned her Airframe and Powerplant license from Bakers School of Aviation. In spring 2025, she graduated from SIU with a Bachelor’s degree in Aviation Management Flight, a minor in Air Traffic Control, and an Associate degree in aviation. During her senior year of college, she served as president of SIU’s Women in Aviation chapter, bringing a new vitality, focusing on mentorship, and creating a space where women in flight training could thrive. She will return home to Wisconsin in August to start her CFI training at Stein Aircraft Services in Waukesha. She is highly determined and passionate about uplifting others, especially women in her field.
