A scholarship in the amount of $5,000 will be awarded to a female Wisconsin resident age 16 or older in pursuit of any pilot rating, license, or endorsement. The final scholarship award will be paid directly to a flight school in south-central Wisconsin, pending valid student pilot and medical certificates, if applicable. Upon receipt of the scholarship, the recipient must become a member of Women in Aviation International and the Four Lakes Chapter if not already a member. The recipient will be assigned a mentor from the Four Lakes Chapter to help navigate and encourage her during training.

Qualifications

  • Female Wisconsin resident
  • 16 years or older in pursuit of any pilot rating, license, or endorsement
  • Member in good standing of Women in Aviation International
  • Member in good standing of Four Lakes Chapter of WAI

Awarded annually to honor the legacy of Remington Viney, an inspiring aviator, instructor, and mentor. The scholarship may be used to achieve any pilot’s license, rating, or endorsement. Funded jointly by The Remington Viney Legacy Fund and the Four Lakes Chapter of Women in Aviation.

Scholarship applications submitted to the Remington Viney Legacy Fund and Women In Aviation—Four Lakes joint venture are evaluated by our selection committee based on six categories: Personal Character, Accomplishments, Goals/Education/Commitment, Service/Pay-It-Forward, Alignment to Remington’s Characteristics/Qualities, and Extras.
